Domestic Gas Service Heating Engineer / Business
I am looking at retiring in 2024 Sept and looking at some one or company to take over, we have a large company database for a small company , ideal for any engineer moving into this line of business, all jobs are managed and planned, the work will keep you busy all year with prospects of expansion etc.

A Domestic Gas Service, Repair installation Engineer is required to join a specialist gas maintenance company, with an outstanding reputation for risk assessment and delivering excellent levels of service.
Technical Home Services Ltd to carry out service & repair work on domestic gas appliances for our customers, management companies, mobile homes & Holiday home sites, we also work for a variety of European boiler manufacturers & facility management companies.
A majority of the work is Service and repair offering solutions to problems and rectifying them.

Person Specification
Domestic Gas Service Engineer
Install – Service – Repair & reactive maintenance for Central Heating boilers & systems. including all types of gas appliances. Installation of general control systems and smart controls
- Experience of diagnostics, servicing and installation of domestic gas boilers, gas appliances and central heating systems.
- Recognized Gas / ACS qualification
- Will need to complete site records and routine forms electronically for company & partner records
- Remain customer focused at all times and being aware of the Customer needs with the ability to work under pressure and react calmly to emergencies & problems
- Ensure that safety rules and Gas Regulations & procedures are followed at all times and takes corrective action to improve safety of work, ensuring that the service provided is in line with company standard & Regs
- Experience with power-flushing central heating heating system
- Experience in Heating & plumbing maintenance
- Experience/Qualifications in LPG would be beneficial
- Ability to plan/survey and price for remedial work where a situation is unsafe or requires improving. Arrange your return to complete the work
- You should be able to have a basic knowledge & be able to use IT / Mobile Phones, experience of completing tasks/certification on a Smart Phone or similar
- We have an ethos of “Right First Time” so you will be expected to complete a repair where possible on the first visit.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum Qualifications required CCN1, CEN1, CPA1, WAT1, (Or CENWAT), HTR1.CKR1.
- DAH 1 & Un-vented hot water would be an advantage
- Must have experience in diagnostics & installation of gas appliances, controls and heating systems.
- LPG qualifications would be an advantage, but not a necessity as the successful applicant would undertake further training to acquire this qualification.
- Must know how to diagnose faults and finding solutions to problems
- Understand or be able to use manufacturers logic fault finding displays on boiler
Required:
- Required UK licence,
- ASC qualifications, Unvented Cylinders & Certification
- City & Guild Certificates
- Basic Disclosure Check … (CRB certificate will have to be obtained )
Main responsibilities:
- Ensure that all Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments are appropriate for the tasks at hand.
- Provide regular updates to Office
- Support the Company & Partners in the day to day implementation of THS & Partners procedures, policies and standards necessary to maintain the integrity of ongoing operational activities and provide high quality service to customers in accordance with THS Data Management System & Gas Regulations
- Conducts behaviour of oneself appropriately to safeguard the company reputation
- Must have experience in heating, boiler & appliance installation also Power flushing
- Gas safety inspections Boiler & Heating systems fault diagnosis and repair
- Maintain own stock & responsible for using & reordering stock manufacturers spares for their work.
- Also using knowledge tools manufacturers for advice Gas Safe for help provided to complete work for company & partners
